Fourteen years of building a stronger, more representative profession
The South Asian Veterinary Association of Ontario was founded in 2012 by a small group of Brampton veterinarians who wanted a professional home that reflected their community. Today we are 350+ members strong.

To advance the professional growth, wellbeing, and representation of South Asian veterinary professionals in Ontario through education, mentorship, advocacy, and community.
Our Vision
A veterinary profession in which every internationally trained and Canadian-educated South Asian practitioner has an equitable path to licensure, leadership, and practice ownership.

Milestones along the way
2012
SAVA Ontario is founded in Brampton by 22 veterinarians.
2015
First accredited CE weekend draws over 120 attendees.
2018
Licensing mentorship program launches for internationally trained vets.
2021
Virtual rounds keep the community connected through the pandemic.
2024
Membership passes 300 with chapters across the GTA and Southwest.
2026
350+ members, an annual gala, and an expanding student outreach program.
